Our recently converted self catering holiday cottage, Braxted Cottage, offers visitors to Malmesbury, North Wiltshire and the Cotswolds a comfortable and contemporary place to stay for short breaks or longer holidays. It is just a few minutes walk from the town centre, with its numerous pubs, restaurants and shops, the famous Malmesbury Abbey and the Abbey House Gardens (home to the "Naked Gardeners"). Within a few miles are Westonbirt Arboretum, Tetbury and the gateway to the southern Cotswolds.
Malmesbury is ideally situated for exploring a vast area of this beautiful part of England. Within an easy drive are the Cotswolds Water Park, Slimbridge, Castle Combe (and its Racing Circuit), the beautiful old-world villages of Bibury and Lacock, Cirencester, Bath, Bristol, and the amazing ancient stones at Avebury. If you fancy going futher afield, an hour’s drive could take you to Oxford, Cheltenham or Marlborough or even over the bridge and into South Wales.
The accommodation sleeps four and is arranged over two floors - the two en-suite bedrooms are on the ground floor, both with underfloor heating; one king with en-suite bathroom and one twin (which can be made into a superking-sized bed) with en-suite shower room. On the first floor, there is an open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area which has solid wood floors and a beautiful view towards the tree-lined River Avon.

COMMENT OF THE MONTH:
A very comfortable home from home. Thank you for the warm welcome and the Christmas Tree! We enjoyed - and we recommend - the food at the Vine Tree in Norton, the Priory in Tetbury and the Brasserie in Malmesbury's Old Bell Hotel. Happy Mew year to all who follow in 2012!." J & A, London.
FOOD MIXER BLADES
I've found a pair of metal blades for an electric food mixer - they don't belong to the cottage and I'm sure that the mixer they do belong to would be pretty useless without them. If you think you might have left them there, please drop me a line and I will post them back!!
Emma
We (a family of four with two young kids) stayed at Braxted for three weeks in July 2011 on a trip from Australia.
It has everything you can possibly need inside, and being a couple of minutes from the local supermarket, and five minutes from the town centre, it's in a great spot.
The greatest asset for us was the garden. Emma and Nigel are happy to share their garden, and we spend many a late afternoon sitting in the garden watching the kids play (if you don't have kids you can always watch the swans swimming by on the River Avon instead!)
Emma and Nigel were also very welcomming of my parents and other visitors during our trip - they are extremely generous folk by all accounts.
Overall a great stay, fantatstic value for money and a 100% enjoyable holiday.
four of stayed at Braxted for a family wedding late August. it was a beautiful cottage, finished to a very high quality, fresh and very clean.Beds extremely comfy and cosy. The garden was a joy to sit in or just observe the wild life from the cute kitchen balcony.
Emma and Nigel were wonderful hosts -they were not intrusive, but equally gave us loads of really helpful information particulalry about cycle rides. RECOMMEND+++
An absoutely wonderful place to stay can not recommend the accomodation, or the grounds highly enough. Emma and Nigel are really great and more than helpful. If you are going to Malmesbury stay here .
Braxted cottage is so comfortable we had everything we needed and it was spotlessley clean. A big 'thank you' Emma for being so warm and helpful. Malmesbury itself is lovely and there are plenty of places to visit nearby. G,A,M & G South Coast.

Visitor comment of the month:
"What a lovely surprise! The area, the accommodation and the hosts surpassed our expectations! Thank you Emma and Nigel." Mrs and Mrs T, Northumberland.
I apologise profusely to those who have struggled to find our website over the past few days. We are in the process of building a new, improved site and it's not quite as straightforward as I'd hoped. The new website is getting there, but I still have to update all the pricing and availability information. Please bear with me in the mean time and if there is anything I can help you with, please let me know.
Best wishes
Emma
